Madhav is a driven professional with a strong background in law and public policy. His experience as a School and Government Partnerships Team Lead at The Apprentice Project involved expanding government partnerships and managing stakeholders. This work, particularly his work in the district of Moga, shifted his focus from NGOs to district administration, driving his interest in understanding and affecting change from within the state system. He is drawn to the PPIA Praxis Residency Programme for its unique opportunity to deep dive into how the State functions at the district level. Change requires understanding and he knows that the PPIA Praxis Programme will provide a pathway for him to understand how to bring about effective and sustainable change at the district and state level.
Sharbari holds an M.A. in Gender and Development from the Institute of Development Studies, UK, and is an early development researcher with sectoral knowledge across youth leadership, gender equality, livelihood, and institutional strengthening. Before joining the Praxis Programme, Sharbari worked on UN Women and UNICEF projects on Feminist Youth Leadership and institutionalizing the Gender Transformative Approach. She has also worked on projects with Malala Fund and PRADAN. With a background in literature, she has also contributed to reputed journals and newspapers like Sahitya Akademi and the Statesman. Through Praxis, she aims to develop leadership and analytical skills while understanding the causal pathway that links fieldwork insights to shaping policies at the administrative level by working directly with administrators and on the ground to inform data-driven policy-making.
She holds an LL. M. in Constitutional & Administrative Law from National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi and a BA LLB (Hons.) from Alliance University Bengaluru, where she secured second rank. She worked as a legal correspondent at Live Law, where she covered court proceedings and analysed key legal developments from the Kerala High Court. Before that, she worked as a research assistant to a judge in the Kerala High Court. She has also worked as a junior lawyer under Advocate Kaleeswaram Raj. She completed Behaviour Journalism Fellowship from the Atlas of Behaviour Change in Development. She volunteers at BOSCO Nilayam Open Shelter Home for Boys, providing legal aid to vulnerable children. With expertise in legal research, policy analysis and advocacy she is committed to promoting good governance. She enjoys reading books during her free time.
He holds an M.A. in Social Work from Jamia Millia Islamia, where he gained an understanding of the structure of society and the issues related to solving intersectional vulnerabilities. His academic journey was complemented by internships with various nonprofit organizations, where he worked directly with vulnerable sections. Through internships with nonprofits, he gained hands-on experience working with disadvantaged communities. As a project coordinator at Bal Raksha Bharat, he coordinated initiatives that helped adolescents tackle vulnerabilities by utilizing existing opportunities. His experience has honed his skills in community engagement, program management, and advocacy. The idea of integrating academic frameworks with grassroots realities to create practical solutions excites him most about this programme.
Nethra Singhi is a M.A. graduate from the University of Kent in Political Communication with International Conflict and Security. Prior to this, she has worked in the nonprofit sector in multiple roles, including policy research, media and communications, heritage conservation, and more. Her interest in policy and governance started from studying International Studies in her undergraduate degree. Working on foreign policy research opened up her interest in public policy, along with working in multiple sectors. Eager to gain on-field experience to go with her academic knowledge, she is excited for the PPIA Praxis Programme’s combining of the two. Observing local governance and learning from practitioners on ground would be her biggest takeaways from this fellowship.
Pragya is a law graduate from Amity Law School, Noida, passionate about human rights, conflict resolution, and gender studies. As an SBI Youth for India Fellow, she led a livelihood project in Bodoland, Assam, empowering marginalized women and fostering social cohesion. Previously, as a Project Manager at Avad India CSR Advisory, she has worked on health, education, and social inclusion initiatives. Her experience with Light Up, Emotions Matter Foundation deepened her understanding of social justice. She am excited about the PPIA Praxis Residency Programme to explore inclusive and decolonial approaches to development and strengthen her skills in policy engagement.

As a Project Executive at SRIJAN, he led rural development initiatives, including natural farming, nano orchard model, capacity building, community mobilization and women’s economic empowerment. He has managed two projects, theme of which was sustainable agriculture and natural resource management. What excites him about the PPIA Praxis Residency Programme is the opportunity to engage with like-minded professionals, deepen his understanding of policy frameworks, and enhance his strategic thinking to drive meaningful change. He looks forward to learning from experts, reaching out practical solutions and refining his ability to bridge the gap between policy and grassroots execution.
Her journey in the social sector began shortly after graduation when she took on the role of a field supervisor and social media manager at Savera Hamara, an NGO dedicated to impactful community work. She hold a bachelor’s degree in IT engineering and a master’s in sociology, combining technical expertise with a deep understanding of social dynamics. Most recently, she served as a public policy professional at the Chief Secretary’s office of the Rajasthan Government, where she contributed to developing and implementing various state programs and policies. As a Praxis Learner, she is thrilled by the opportunity to seamlessly blend academic knowledge with practical, hands-on experience in policy-making, advocacy, and public service.
With a M.A. in Development from Azim Premji University and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, his journey spans over 3 years in rural development and education. At the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society, he partnered with SHGs under NRLM, supporting rural women to build sustainable livelihoods through community efforts. As Program Manager at Rocket Learning, he worked across six districts of Uttar Pradesh, uplifting early-grade education by guiding Anganwadi Workers in digital literacy and strengthening government ties. His path is shaped by a passion for grassroots solutions, strong project leadership, and meaningful collaboration. Joining the PPIA Praxis Residency thrills him—it’s a chance to apply his experience to create bold, lasting change for India’s development.
She holds a postgraduate degree in law, and her journey as a social worker began as a Gandhi Fellow with the Piramal Foundation. During this time, she gained valuable experience working with government departments, communities, teachers, and students. Following that, she worked with the Naandi Foundation for Nanhi Kali as a soft skills trainer, where she helped nearly 2,000 students develop confidence, leadership, and life skills. Her motivation to give back to society has led her to the PPIA Praxis Residency Programme, which will provide her with the opportunity to understand the complexities of public administration and engage in experiential learning. This experience will help her turn her dreams and vision into reality.
In her previous role as a District Consultant with UNICEF, specializing in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and Ending Violence Against Children (EVAC), she leveraged her background in counseling psychology and expertise in crisis intervention and community mental health to support district administrations in creating systems of care for vulnerable children. Over the past two and a half years, she has worked closely with communities to address their mental health needs. Additionally, she holds a diploma in narrative practices, believing in the power of storytelling as a tool for well-being. Passionate about policy research and advocacy, she is excited to join the Public Policy in Action Programme to expand her skills and learn from diverse experiences, enhancing her ability to shape policies that have a meaningful impact on mental health and child protection.
With a Master’s in Sociology from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University , Delhi, and over five years in program implementation, research, and advocacy, Palashka’s work focuses on gender justice and community-driven change. She has led initiatives such as Women with Wheels at the Azad Foundation and researched labor rights at CUTS International. At Restless Development, she designed youth-driven programs on gender equity, impacting thousands in Rajasthan. The PPIA Praxis Residency excites her as a chance to merge field experience with policy discourse. Learning from experts will refine her advocacy, enabling a more profound and lasting impact.
A copywriter and events professional by experience, she took a leap into the social sector with a Master’s in Development Studies. A whole new world opened up—grassroots realities, policy gaps, and the impact of systemic change. Mahima has worked with communities, led research projects, and managed programmes that drive social impact. She enjoy bringing people together, facilitating conversations, and finding solutions. Hailing from a small village in Bihar’s Vaishali district, he completed M.A. in Rural Development and Governance from TISS Hyderabad. Passionate about improving socio-economic conditions of tribal communities, he aims to address governance challenges in implementing welfare schemes at the grassroots level. He worked as a YP in Keonjhar Odisha under NRLM, strengthening SHGs and promoting SME transformation. He also facilitated the APC project, enhancing WSHG member’s income through horticulture and alternative livelihoods. Later, as PMU at NSKFDC, He implemented the centrally sponsored scheme NAMASTE scheme, ensuring the safety and dignity of sewer workers. He is passionate about working with rural communities and have witnessed the challenges tribal groups face in education, healthcare, and basic needs.
Vineet Prakash is a dedicated social impact professional from Sasaram, Bihar, with over 5 years of experience in the development sector. He holds an MSW from the TISS, Guwahati and a BSW from Amity University, Noida. He is also a graduate of the Dexterity School of Leadership & Entrepreneurship. As an AIF Banyan Impact Fellow, he was placed with Doctors For You in rural Bihar, leading public health initiatives. He also served as a Swalamban Associate under the SIDBI-SRIJAN SWAR Fellowship, focusing on entrepreneurship and gender. Additionally, as an Assistant to the Committee Chairman, he contributed to policy and legislative work at the Bihar Legislative Council. Vineet is excited to join the PPIA Praxis Residency Programme, aiming to blend academic insights with practical experience to shape impactful public policy solutions.
She pursued a BA and MA in Political Science from the University of Delhi. She possesses experience in research, writing, project management, and working closely with community service organizations and NGOs on themes of education, gender, human rights, and livelihood. She recently gained valuable experience as a political consultant, which taught her how politics and policy are intertwined, affecting society at large. As an individual, she achieved a sense of accomplishment by making substantial contributions to society. Therefore, she believes the Praxis Programme will help her gain a wider perspective on various areas of public policy and gain exposure to a multitude of public issues of importance. This opportunity will allow her to combine her skills with passion and bring about a positive change in society.
Hailing from Guwahati, Dipsikha is a postgraduate in Sociology from Ambedkar University, Delhi. A storyteller at heart and a development communication enthusiast, her last designation was Project Manager at Charkha Development Communication Network. Through her work, she have had the privilege of engaging with various communities across the country in the fields of gender development, communication, and livelihood—including in Rajasthan, J&K, Chhattisgarh, and Uttarakhand—and she looks forward to many more such experiences. Apart from her professional interests, she enjoys playing basketball, trekking, and photography. What draws her to PPIA Praxis is its perfect blend of hands-on experience and theoretical insights—fuel for both the professional and the perpetual student in me. She looks forward to immersing myself in its dynamic learning environment, ready to explore, unlearn, and grow.
Abhijeet Patel completed his education at the University of Delhi. He graduated in Political Science from Dyal Singh College, securing 2nd rank in the 2016-17 annual exams. He earned his MA in Political Science from Ramjas College, DU, and qualified for the UGC-NET in December 2022. Professionally, he has two years of experience, starting at Political Hub Spot, a political consultancy startup, where he gained skills in qualitative and quantitative research. Later, he joined the Jan Suraaj Young Leadership Programme, focusing on policy impact in Purnia, Bihar, leading awareness campaigns and youth empowerment initiatives.
From Patna, Bihar, he has transitioned from a career spanning over 6 years in Software Development to pursue a passion for Public Policy. With a BCA and an MCA, he has built chatbots, developed backend systems and created online learning experiences. His core strength? Problem-Solving. Witnessing firsthand the challenges in healthcare, education, infrastructure, etc., in marginalised communities of Bihar, Jharkhand, etc., fuelled his desire for greater social impact. He has honed teamwork and communication skills collaborating across diverse technical teams. While his leadership has been through initiative and mentoring, he is eager to expand those skills.
